Welcome from Simon: Latest on Education Market trends - 30mins

Simon Hay, CEO at Firefly Learning kick starts the show with reflections on the educational landscape in a post-covid world. He shares some of the latest trends we are seeing from working with schools around the world and how best to support teachers, parents and students.

Show & Tell: Keeping it simple with Firefly's permissions - 30 mins

Some say that ‘complicated is clever’ but Simon Luxford-Moore at ESMS has discovered that what is really clever is making something complicated, simple. This is what Firefly offers in its permissioning and security. The simple, yet clever, use of personalised Dashboards, Personal Pages and viewing access to links means that everyone in the school community can access what they need without angst or confusion.

Show & Tell: Taking the Digital Leaders program to the next level - 30mins

After a couple of tough years after the pandemic, Jon Barker from Highams Park School shares how they have further developed and tweaked their Digital Leader program. Join us to meet some of the Digital Leaders and see how they help to run the Firefly site and provide training and support to teachers and fellow students. All the admin for setting up and running the group is done via Firefly and can be exported for use by other schools following the session.

Product Spotlight - 30 mins

Ben Dunford, Head of Product at Firefly, looks at some of the key highlights from the past year including our new user experience and activities functionality. We talk about some of the exciting plans we have for the year ahead, including our plans for our mobile apps and parent portal. We pull back the curtains on the product process, explaining how the team prioritises and makes decisions about what comes next.

Show & Tell: Finding it on Firefly at Orwell Park - 30mins

David Horton at Orwell Park shares how embedded Firefly has become in how they function as a school. For their students it's now just something that's "always been there" and for the staff, it's an ever growing back catalogue of resources to fall back on, especially since combining it with MediaPod. Parents are also well integrated with Firefly, giving them access to all the information they need.

The Firefly learning team ran a session on how to effectively engage parents, drawing on the experience of working with a wide range of schools, and our own experiences as parents. Watch for practical tips and advice on how to make the best use of different communication channels, and examples of how successful schools keep parents engaged in the learning conversation.
