The Background

We are growing our QA team following series A investment which has enabled us to grow the company so this is an exciting time to be a member of the QA team here at Firefly. During the rest of this year we are planning to make significant improvements to our QA processes including introducing test tools and test automation.

Responsibilities

  • Write, develop and execute test scripts for work carried out during each sprint, whist maintaining overall test script framework.  

  • Report progress and provide test metrics to the QA Lead

  • Carry out exploratory testing and test scenarios to uncover unusual issues.

  • Plan, define and execute testing of all project deliveries, triage issues found and report on progress.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the quality assurance processes

  • Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established processes, practices, procedures and quality standards

  • Work as an embedded tester in the context of a scrum team:

    • Evaluating complexity of user stories, contributing to estimates during sprint planning and developing tests.

    • Manage defects found and work with stakeholders to analyse, prioritise and resolve them

    • Review business/design documentation to ensure that requirements/user stories/acceptance criteria stated are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable.

    • Identify and inform the team of any impediments or risks to product quality or project delivery

    • Perform iterative testing and provide input to programmers.

You

The ideal candidate for this role:

  • Proficiency in test design and implementation, including planning, executing and validating tests across and able to create test plans from scratch

  • Effective communication skills with both business and technical audiences

  • Understanding of agile methodologies such as test driven development, continuous integration and testing in an Agile environment

  • Be well versed in software engineering tools and best practices

  • A passion for technology, analytical and logical thinking with natural curiosity

Essential skills

  • Mobile App testing experience for iOS and Android devices

  • Project/Issue tracking using Jira or similar tools
