Schools Development Consultant / Business Development Manager - Asia & the Middle East

We are looking for a self-motivated and results orientated Business Development Manager who is passionate about education and technology to join the Firefly team.

Based in Singapore the role will focus on  growing Firefly’s presence, reputation and sales success across Asia and the Middle East.  This role requires someone with high levels of integrity, tenacity and self-motivation, who is able to deal with stakeholders at all levels within a school’s organisation.

This position will suit a dynamic, experienced sales person with a passion for education technologies.

The Role

The role will see you:

  • Sell our market leading online software platform, used by teachers, students and parents, into English speaking schools across Asia and the Middle East
  • Work to ambitious growth targets in the region
  • Uncover and develop your own opportunities aswell as working with warm leads
  • Visit schools across the region (K-12)
  • Attend events and exhibitions across the region
  • Network effectively with school leaders and industry partners
  • Manage web meetings and webinars
  • Inform marketing activity, through feeding back information about market trends, events, exhibitions and opportunities
  • Inform product development, by feeding back information about the market
  • Nurture, grow and manage a sales pipeline
  • Report accurately on your sales pipeline
  • Follow up qualified marketing-generated leads and source your own opportunities
  • Sell in both 1:1 situations and to school committees (eg. SMT, eLearning team, HODs, etc.)
  • Deal with a variety of stakeholders, including Senior Management Teams, IT staff, classroom teachers, parents and even students

Based in the region, this is a home-based role, reporting to the UK and International Sales Manager.

You

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Have education sales experience
  • Have experience of managing a complex sales process
  • Understand the needs and challenges of schools from K-12
  • Be comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels (teachers, parents, SMT)
  • Be able to conduct 1:1 meetings, board-level meetings and also comfortable with delivering presentations to large audiences
  • Be able to lever marketing-driven leads and also be comfortable self-sourcing opportunities
  • Understand the International Schools culture - preferably have experience of selling in to International Schools
  • Fully understand the place of IT in education
  • Be organised, self-disciplined and ambitious
  • Be able to demonstrate high levels of independence and initiative, while respecting process and strategy
  • Have a strong customer service instinct
  • Be able to communicate professionally to the highest level, in face-to-face situations, by phone and by email
  • Be flexible in their approach to work, with a strong team-based ethos
  • Understand the importance of CRM and other systems to improve process and demonstrate accountability
